Area Sales Manager - Food Manufacturing (Western Cape)

Minimum requirements for the role:A relevant degree in food technology or equivalent qual is preferred for this role.Previous senior sales / key account management experience working within the FMCG, food ingredient / manufacturing or meat processing industry is preferred for the role.Must have strong business development abilities with the focus to grow market share.Must have good English communication skills both verbal and written.The successful candidate must be willing to work with non-kosher, non-halaal and pork products.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Driving and overseeing all commercial aspects, managing senior key accounts within the meat processing, bakery and related markets within the western cape.Ensuring a value-added approach to all senior key accounts as well as build market share across all categories.Driving and achieving ingredients and casings volumes and budget.Building on and researching product and industry knowledge as well as promotional activity as and when required.Building client relationships and ensuring service effectiveness.Submitting weekly sales reports to senior management.Developing new business and market opportunities.Managing customers' expectations regarding stock and deliveries.Communicating new product and service opportunities, special developments, feedback from field activity.Generating ideas and implementing special sales activities and innovative sessions.Participating in promotions and marketing events when required to do so.Optimising sales and market share through client relationship management.Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
