Area Cleansing Officer

Post of Area Cleansing Officer are interchangeable within the Department at the discretion of the Head (Cleansing and Solid Waste).
Incumbents must be prepared to work planned and unplanned overtime should the need arise.
This post reports to MANAGER (OPERATIONS)
Job Purpose To implement the collection of domestic, commercial, industrial and garden waste in accordance
with relevant regulations and bylaws. 

Key Responsibility Areas • Responsible for staff control and administration.
• Control the operations of the area.
• Liaise with public, other municipal departments and outside organisation on various concerns raised.
• Actively promote safety and accident prevention in the working environment.
• Enforce bylaws and tariffs and attend to law enforcement of waste management services.
• Represent the branch at various council/ working group/ liaison or similar meetings.
• Plan and schedule the removal of informal shacks.
• Undertake related assignments.

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following qualifications:
Operations Management 
Environmental Management 
Environmental Engineering
Waste Management
Public Management 
Logistics Management 
or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements • 4 Years relevant experience.
