Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine value-based, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission.As Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for administering and supporting various online systems and web-based applications. You will provide front-line end-user support and excellent customer service to the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. You will utilize excellent communication and customer service skills to support end-users including demonstrating new functionalities and recommending solutions to end-users.Your responsibilities will include:Administering and supporting web-based applications and online systems, including probing for information from end-users to identify problems and establish needs.Providing detailed explanations including developing and delivering end-user training on computing procedures to faculty, staff, and students.Creating and editing support documentation for web-based applications and online systems (i.e., user support guides, technical documentation).Providing technical support for unexpected problems, including researching, analyzing and recommending potential solutions and changes to systems.Analyzing systems and web-based applications and making recommendations for technical enhancements.Configuring web applications and systems according to requirements, user feedback, and project objectives.Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum three years of experience in application support, preferably in a post-secondary or teaching hospital environment.Demonstrated experience administering and supporting web-based applications and online systems.Experience creating, drafting, and editing system and application support documentation such as user support guides and technical documentation.Experience serving as the first point of contact for application support.Experience configuring web applications and systems according to requirements and user feedback.Experience with HTML, CSS, or other equivalent web development technologies.Ability to solve complex technical and logistical problems.Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.Demonstrated analytical skills.Excellent listening skills, empathy and patience.Excellent oral and written communication skills & interpersonal skills.Exceptional customer service orientation.Assets (Nonessential):Knowledge of the Faculty of Medicine and experience based in a University and/or hospital setting is an asset.Knowledge of M365 tools, including but not limited to SharePoint, or Power Platform.Knowledge of Canvas, Focus, OASES, Learner Chart, LaserFiche, WebCV and/or Elements.To be successful in this role you will be:Organized.Self-directed.Team player.Please note:This is a term position ending in November 2025.Closing Date: 11/11/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - TermSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 10 -- $70,844. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,595.
