Annual Financial Statement Compiler

We are looking for an Annual Financial Statement Compiler to join our PKF Durban South team.GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Annual write-up of accounting recordsCompilation Engagements in terms of ISR 4410Accounting Officer Engagements in terms of Close Corporations ActEnsuring that proper planning is performed before execution.Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are always followed.Preparation of adjusting journalsCommunicating with clients and making engagement arrangements.Drafting AFS per IFRS and IFRS for SMEsPerforming tax computations for Companies, Close Corporations and Trusts (including SBC's, special allowances (s12C, s12E, etc)Updating Manager and Partner on progress of engagementsAssist other staff members where needed.
Other adhoc tasks that may be in line with the position.GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Detailed knowledge of Caseware Working papersAbility to work within a team and independentlyGood communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to communicate with internal and external clientsWorking knowledge of most commonly used accounting packages (for reporting purposes and ad-hoc processing)REQUIREMENTS:MatricCompleted BCom Accounting or related  qualificationCompleted SAICA Articles3-5 years experience in an accounting or similar organisation
