Your opportunity:
The Division of Anatomy conducts world-class research and innovative teaching with a focus on regenerative medicine, neuroscience, and clinical anatomy. We train over 3000 students annually using state-of-the-art facilities and human cadaveric specimens from our Willed Body Program.
The role of Anatomy Coordinator and Technician provides both administrative and laboratory support for the Division. You will be the main administrator for Body Donation Program inquiries and assist with the maintenance of anatomical specimens for teaching labs and research.
Your responsibilities will include: Setting up and maintaining teaching labs according to course schedules.Performing embalming, dissection, and plastination of cadaveric specimens.Providing training on lab protocols to students and staff.Administering the body donation program, including inquiries and logistics.Ensuring safe handling of human material and specialized equipment.Maintaining inventory of anatomical collections and chemicals.Applying standards for cleaning labs and equipment.Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Minimum two years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a university or teaching hospital.Experience with human cadavers/prosected specimens.Strong knowledge of human anatomy and embalming procedures.Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and in a team.Must be able to lift 100lbs occasionally and 20lbs frequently.Assets (Nonessential): Master of Science degree.Knowledge of the Anatomy Act of Ontario.Experience with prosection preparation.To be successful in this role you will be: ApproachableArticulateMeticulousOrganizedTeam playerPlease note: This is a term position ending in March 2026.
