JOB TITLE: Analyst – Wholesale Regulations JOB LEVEL: C4
SALARY: Total Annual Package (CTC) R594,116.00 - R742,646.00
POSITION STATUS: Permanent
Purpose of the job Provide high-quality economic analysis, including anticipating and considering counter-arguments or different points of view, and support to the Policy Research and Analysis division, Council, and other divisions within ICASA.
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Wholesale Regulations, and their responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality economic analysis and inputs into regulatory decision-making processes.Contributing to the production of written documents for both internal and external stakeholders (including regulations, discussion documents, findings documents, etc.).Conducting economic research into the development of proportionate regulatory interventions in terms of section 67 of the Electronic Communications Act.Assisting the Manager in developing a consistent regulatory agenda to promote competition and enhanced economic efficiency of the ICT Sector.Representing South Africa on regional and global forums.Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Economics or Econometrics (NQF Level 7).A postgraduate degree in Economics or Econometrics will be an added advantage.A minimum of five years' working experience, of which three years must be in a research field, preferably in economic research.Key Competencies and Attributes: Analytical thinkingAttention to detailProblem-solvingPlanning and organizingResilienceWriting SkillsCompetition and ICT Policy development and analysisQualitative and quantitative research methodologyReport writingTeamworkClosing Date: 02 December 2024
