To be part of the journey, follow the steps below: To see what life at Capitec is all about and complete a short assessment, please click here!Once you have completed the above finalize your application by clicking apply below.ResponsibilitiesTo derive risk insights and intelligence through data and analytics, and provide support to the Business Continuity and Risk Practitioner through:Maintaining an accurate and complete Group Operational Risk Loss Database to enable reporting on operational risk losses both internally and to the relevant Regulators.Understanding the principles and processes for gathering and classifying operational risk losses in the business.Incorporating external Operational Risk Loss events into the existing Operational Risk Loss Database.Enabling the creation and monitoring of appropriate Key Risk Indicators.Driving data quality and automation initiatives relating to Operational Risk.ExperienceMinimum: At least 2-3 years' experience in data analysis in a Risk management environment.Ideal: 3+ years' experience in data analysis, in a Risk management environment.Experience in an analytical capacity within the financial services / banking industry.Previous experience in Visual Basic and SQL or SAS would be advantageous.Qualifications (Minimum)Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Statistics.Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)A relevant post-graduate qualification in Finance or Statistics.KnowledgeMinimum: Risk and control knowledge.Understanding of key business processes and functions and an understanding of key risks in these areas.Data analytics and data visualisation tools and techniques.Ideal: Mature understanding of enterprise risk management in the banking industry.SkillsAnalytical Skills.Communications Skills.Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).Numerical Reasoning skills.Conditions of EmploymentClear criminal and credit record.Capitec is committed to diversity and, where feasible, all appointments will support the achievement of our employment equity goals.
