Title: Analyst: Application Support Engineer
Job Description The Analyst Application Support Engineer will work as part of an impactful, talented team, responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing application and infrastructure, database, and middleware capabilities. Securing environments that enable the development and operations of modules and solutions through continuous software updates. Enabling innovative cloud architecture, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the operational environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Managing and ensuring smooth operations of complex hybrid cloud platforms solutions and applicationsProvide 2nd and 3rd level investigations to application and platform support incidents logged to the teamProvisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS EKSProvisioning of Computing, Storage, Networking, and Security technologies in the Amazon AWS hosting environmentSetting up Cloud Monitoring using CloudWatch or any other toolManagement of containerized workloads and services tools like Kubernetes on AWS EKSManagement and supporting of Load Balancers, Firewalls and network switching componentsProvide AWS operations and deployment guidance and best practices throughout the lifecycle of a projectConfigure the infrastructure to generate relevant metrics for uptime monitoringConfigure tools to ingest monitoring data, develop alert criterionMonitor and fine-tune utilization of microservices resourcesMeasurement, optimization, and tuning of system performance and ensuring that systems will run reliably and are highly available in a 24/7 production environmentSupport and debug issues on EKS cloud platformDiagnose and resolve problems, escalating and communicating issues where appropriateCreation and maintenance of technical documentation and proceduresAdhere to defined change management proceduresIdentify and recommend continual improvement measuresMust be able to perform database queriesQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Educational Qualifications: B Tech degree or Postgraduate Diploma - Information TechnologyProfessional Qualifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect - mandatoryLinux Certification Admin - desirableYears of Experience: Minimum 3 years' experienceOther requirements: Min 3 years' relevant experience in supporting, deploying and/or administering infrastructure solutionsMin 3 years' experience of current and emerging virtualization, infrastructure, cloud and containerization technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.Min 3 years' experience in scripting (automation) and configuration management using tools such as Python - essential, Yaml, Rbac, Ansible, Salt etc.Min 3 years' experience building, managing and supporting AWS-based solutions and AWS native technologiesKnowledge and experience of Web services, SOAP and RESTful interfaces, and XMLStrong understanding and working knowledge of IT management best practice frameworks, such as ITIL and COBITStrong knowledge of automation frameworks and toolsStrong knowledge and experience on AWS (Certification compulsory)Min 3 years' experience in database technologies - RDBMS, e.g. MSSQL, PostGreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.Excellent problem-solving ability in complex environmentsKnowledge of monitoring and alerting tools like Kibana, Prometheus, OpsGenieHands-on experience to implement alerts and notification on AWS using CloudWatch and SNSHands-on Experience to use S3, Lambda and CloudFront servicesAbility to work with very little supervision and to work well in a team environmentExcellent documentation, time management and communication skillsEducation: B-Tech: Information Technology (Required)
