One of the top wealth managers in South Africa is looking for an experienced and passionate AML Analyst to join their dynamic team in Cape Town.As the AML Analyst, your primary objective will be to ensure the company's AML/CFT/CFP policies, processes, and controls relating to risk management, customer due diligence, and risk assessment are implemented and adhered to.Key qualifications and experience required for the AML Analyst:Bachelor's degree in relevant subject matter (i.e., law, finance or business)Certificate in AML Compliance / ACAMS (ideally)Comprehensive understanding of the AML legal framework in South AfricaKnowledge of Guernsey AML requirements is preferableProven track record of performing enhanced client due diligence and onboarding complex legal entitiesKey duties of the AML Analyst:Perform enhanced client due diligence for all high-risk clientsProvide a specialist function to Accountable Institutions in respect of legal entity onboardingPerform customer due diligence and risk assessment when onboarding a client as well as throughout the life cycle of the client relationshipPerform sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening on all clients and its related partiesEnsure that all clients and linked parties are registered for ongoing screeningPerform FATCA/CRS checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data and correct classification of clientsPerform transaction analysis to identify suspicious or unusual transactionsMaintain excellent knowledge of sanctions regimesKey personal skills:Exceptional report-writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearlyStrong analytical and critical thinking abilitiesProficiency in data analysis and presentation of findingsIf you are a dynamic finance professional eager to utilise your industry experience in AML, compliance and risk management, we encourage you to get in touch for a discussion about this position.About the job:Contract Type: PermanentFocus: ComplianceWorkplace Type: On-siteLocation: Cape TownSpecialism: Banking & Financial ServicesIndustry: Financial ServicesSalary: NegotiableJob Reference: 4YHPOG-C352B9DEDate posted: 21 October 2024Consultant: Tiegan Stevens
