I. Major Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Manager Ambulatory Operations, directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
Monitors workflow and productivity to evaluate clerical and clinic support staff performance.
Directs patient care activities and assesses patient flow.
Performs and/or delegates patient treatments and documents patient care.
Addresses phone encounters and executes appropriate follow-through.
Assists physicians, PAs, NPs, Residents and/or Fellows with technical procedures.
Performs venipuncture using aseptic techniques.
Participates in creating a team-focused environment by coordinating clinical and clerical staff.
Works closely with the Manager Ambulatory Operations to ensure that appropriate patient information is gathered.
Ensures the efficient greeting of patients and visitors in the clinical areas.
Works with the providers to ensure efficient processes to support billing.
Ensures the processing of office administrative paperwork.
Assists the Manager Ambulatory Operations in monitoring expenditures against the budget.
Ensures the coordination of the efficient set-up, maintenance, filing, and retrieval of medical records.
Ensures adequate inventory of clinic supplies and basic maintenance of clinic equipment.
Conducts periodic employee meetings at the discretion of the Manager Ambulatory Operations.
Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff.
Collaborates with the Manager Ambulatory Operations to communicate and address facilities issues.
Resolves or escalates patient complaints.
Alerts the Manager Ambulatory Operations to patient complaints and recommends quality improvement measures.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Current State of Massachusetts LPN license.
Experience/Skill:
Minimum of five (5) years of medical office LPN experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Ability to coordinate and organize multiple functions and activities in an ambulatory setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical/problem-solving skills.
Proficient in relevant computer software.
Preferred:
Prior supervisory or managerial experience including budgetary planning.
