A new opportunity has become available in our Outdoor Team for a confident, energetic and resilient Allocator who has the strong analytical, logical reasoning and numerical abilities required to oversee the allocations for the Outdoor Apparel portfolio in adherence to the Cape Union Mart Group standards.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to align with the company vision, be self-motivated and actively involved in overseeing the end to end process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:Working with Planners and Buyers to fully implement the Merchandise StrategyImplement the Allocation strategy according to store turnover and profileEnsure all stock in the DC is allocated effectively based on trade and store performanceAnalytical support and feedback to influence the Planning and Buying teamsStore and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysisReporting and recommendations regarding store performance – this role plays a crucial link between stores and the merchandise teamLiaising with suppliers, stores and the Distribution Centre regarding queriesReplenishment managementEffective communication with stores and fieldMonitoring product performance to take appropriate actionRegular store visits where appropriateRequirements:2 - 3 years' experience as a Retail/Merchandise/Product/Store Allocator within a retail environmentMatric & qualification in a related fieldA high degree of numeracy and a detailed and strategic approach to workThe ability to communicate effectively at all levelsAbility to show initiative and be resourcefulSound decision-making abilityMust have excellent MS Office (Excel at an advanced level) skills and/or other Planning ToolsJob Related Behavioural Competencies:Analytical thinking and problem solvingEagerness to learnTime Management and ability to meet deadlines and overcome challengesAbility to clearly and concisely articulate problems and explain exactly how to reproduce themBeing proactive and taking initiative in your roleAbility to effectively work in a team environment while being self-directed and highly motivatedTeam playerAbility to build strong relationshipsVerbal and written communication skillsPlease note: The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
