Air Product Manager | Freight Forwarding/Global Logistics

This opportunity will require your strong Air Import & Export Knowledge, forming a part of the Cape Town Management Team for this Fortune 500 Global Logistics Company. As a Subject Matter Expert, you'll will be responsible to further develop the Air Import & Export Product in the Market Place through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People and Culture.
Join a team that values expertise and offers opportunities for growth and development.Minimum requirements: •Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Advantageous) •5+ Years within an Air Product Management role •5+ years of Global Logistics Industry working experience and knowledge (specifically Air Imports & Exports and preferably within the Freight Forwarding Industry) •Must have previous management experience and a sound understanding of all operational, finance and commercial support processes •Fully Computer Literate in all MS Office Suite Applications (Excel – Advanced) •Own Vehicle and Valid Drivers License Key Performance Areas: •Review and support with day-to-day quotations •Support product with checking local charges and agreement quotes to ensure minimization of potential branch losses•Have thorough knowledge of air import product incl.
Breakbulk, Gateway & Pricing knowledge•Plan and support with huddles and monthly meetings to discuss market intelligence and delegate workloads within the team•Attend weekly branch Sales meeting and facilitate discussions on Air imports & exports with market updates and trends•Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business•Grow department Revenue in line with budget target and management expectations•Supporting with internal financial reports to ensure that the Air Import department is showing clean financial accounting throughout all financial reports•Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings•Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements •Be involved and suggest system/process improvements•Review and conduct staff appraisals and one to one meeting timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative•Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring developmentIn return this opportunity will offer an attractive remuneration package that will include full Company Medical Aid, contribution towards Retirement Annuity and monthly management profit share.
