Based in Potchefstroom, our client seeks a Research Technician to lead the planning, execution, and analysis of field trials, working closely with a dynamic team focused on improving crop production across South Africa. As a Research Technician, you will support the planning of statistical trials for key crops, conduct comprehensive field research, and assist in farmers' days and plantings. This role requires a deep academic foundation, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience in agricultural research. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Agriculture or a related field, with proven research experience (University level research is essential) Code 14 Driver's License (essential for field travel) Experience with statistical trial planning, execution, and reporting Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other research tools Excellent organizational and communication skills Knowledge of row crops such as maize, potatoes, soy, and sunflowers will be highly advantageous Self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, execute, and analyze field trials for crops like Sunflower, Grain Sorghum, and Maize Collect and analyze data to support crop improvement strategies Assist with trial setups, farmer's days, and ongoing trial monitoring Collaborate with sales managers on trial campaigns during peak marketing seasons Drive and coordinate trial logistics, ensuring proper setup and maintenance Prepare research reports and contribute to product development efforts SOFT SKILLS / ADDITIONAL INFO: Passionate about agricultural research and farming innovation Comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team Able to manage fieldwork logistics and engage confidently with local farmers Do you see yourself as the successful Agricultural Research Technician at this multinational manufacturing Company?
