Agricultural Operations Manager

Farm Manager SA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Farm Management Couple. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our farm, including livestock management, finance, and administration.Livestock ManagementOur ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in livestock management. They will be responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of our livestock, including feeding, vaccinations, and weighing. Additionally, they will have experience with pasture management and be able to maintain a high level of stockmanship.Finance and AdministrationThe successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the financial aspects of the farm, including bookkeeping, invoicing, and VAT payments. They will have a strong understanding of financial management and be able to maintain accurate records. They will also be responsible for general administration tasks, including answering phones and responding to emails.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have the following qualifications and experience:Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageousMin of 5 years previous farm management experience with Livestock (all management aspects of beef)Proven feedlot experience i.e. dipping, dosing & weighingGreat stockmanshipPrevious Pasture Management experienceMaintenance orientatedValid drivers licenseGrade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Finance / Accounting (Essential)2+ years bookkeeping experience relevant to the agricultural sectorFully computer literateWorking knowledge of PastelExperience with invoicing & VAT paymentsGeneral Administration skillsExcellent organizational abilitiesOnly short-listed candidates will be contacted.
