KEY PERFORMANCE AREASOperations Management:Coordinate day-to-day operations of the CfERI CentreManage the CfERI's office, technology, equipment and industrial growth effortsEncourage an environment of innovative thinking and commercialisation of innovative ideasCoordinate and monitor initiatives for the incubation service offeringPlan, coordinate, organise, and spearhead efforts to recruit and locate office, technology, and industrial usersEnsure appropriate equipment and materials are available for successful operationsEnsure programme compliance with applicable internal and external requirementsCoordinate the development, evaluation and implementation of the Incubation Model through goals, objectives, and activities related to Rapid Incubator/CfE growthRecruit youth and entrepreneurs into the programmes and grow the SMMEs in various sectorsDevelop, adapt and revise Centre policies and proceduresPrepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to assigned programmes, including financial reports that summarize and/or outline incoming and outgoing fundsReport and document Centre efforts through SEDA's reporting systemWork with the College Principal to make recommendations to Academic Board, College Council and government officials on programmes which support the development strategy for entrepreneurial growthConduct research to identify emerging needs, trends, and services related to recruitment and location of incubatees and affiliate members or other assigned areas of responsibilityDesign and implement marketing material to ensure exposure of the Rapid Incubator/CfE programme offeringsStaff Management:Recruit, select and appoint staff in collaboration with the HR UnitManage employee performanceEmployee training and developmentAdminister HR mattersDevelop and monitor the Rapid Incubator/CfE budgetSourcing of additional funding resources for the Rapid Incubator/CfEFinancial Management:Control the expenditure of funds in accordance with the business plan and requirements of the CentreFinancial reporting to Deputy Principal FinancesStakeholder Management:Establish working relationships with key stakeholdersParticipate in forums of key stakeholdersExplore and initiate activities for community engagementRepresent the CfERI publicly to potential partners, funders and stakeholdersPrepare proposals to clients and respond to inquiries/requests from CfERI stakeholdersServe as a liaison to college and other third-party resourcesEngage with business communityREQUIREMENTSA three-year recognized tertiary qualification in Business Management or Business Administration or Entrepreneurship5 – 10 years' experience in managing enterprise development programmes5 years' experience in supervision at management levelProven experience in an innovation and technology-driven industry or organizationIn-depth knowledge and understanding of the SMME and incubation industryNew venture creationComprehensive knowledge of the TVET Sector and relevant legislationKnowledge of facilitation; supervising staff; planning; organizing; motivating staff; staff disciplineGood interpersonal and communication skillsIntegrity and ReliabilityProject, financial, conflict, strategic, stakeholder and personnel managementBudgetingStrong leadership skillsMust have a valid driver's licensePLEASE NOTE: Relevant Employment Acts will be considered when filling this position.
