Your opportunity:
The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students. Our department members are dedicated to aid all students to the greatest extent, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate personal, financial, and academic counselling, registration and enrollment, student records, transfer credit, petitions, final examinations, and graduation.
The Admissions & Recruitment Officer will report into the Associate Director, Admissions.
Your responsibilities will include: Applying established standards when administering a process for consistent evaluation of applicationsAnalyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applications; providing detailed explanations of admissions decisionsInterpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirementsPreparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collectedDelivering student recruitment presentations; drafting written materials for presentationsAdvising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequencesKeeping well-informed on University programs, policies and proceduresEssential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum four years related experience in undergraduate student recruitment and admissions, preferably in a large, post-secondary institution.Experience reviewing and assessing applications for undergraduate admissions.Knowledgeable about domestic and international education systems.Demonstrated experience with issues related to domestic and international student recruitment, admission and university life.Demonstrated experience presenting to large and diverse groups.Proven event planning experience in the context of student recruitment.Record of strong customer service orientation, initiative, diplomacy and attention to detail; tact in dealing with people at all levels and with people of varied cultural backgrounds.Well-developed problem-solving skills is required.Demonstrated organizational and time management ability.Excellent computer skills, including in-depth knowledge of and extensive experience with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.Assets (Nonessential): Preference will be given to applicants with experience and knowledge of the University of Toronto policies and proceduresExperience using ROSI, CRM systems and content management systems highly desirable.Related marketing experience an assetTo be successful in this role you will be: ApproachableArticulateDiplomaticMeticulousOrganizedProactivePlease note: This is a term position until September 2025.Closing Date: 12/11/2024, 11:59PM ET
