Job Purpose
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide asset control for the directorate. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Recommendation
A valid code B (or higher) driving license. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Key Performance Areas
Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the department by means of finance and/or asset management input both strategic and operational; Implement all financial aspects of the operational plan; Human resource mentoring and coaching of other staff; Procurement of Assets; Manage Inventory.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Basic Accounting System and Logis; Supply Chain Management and the Public Finance Management Act; Skills needed: Proven computer literacy; Written and verbal communication; Project Management; Accounting, Finance and Audit; Economic, Financial and statistical analysis; Legal Administration.
Remuneration
R 308 154 per annum (Salary level 7)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
