JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Part-time adjunct faculty pool in Professional Writing and Rhetoric to fill opportunities on a course-by-course basis as need arises.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Professional Writing and Rhetoric (WR) courses. WR faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate seminars, and advanced topic practicums and seminars. WPI's WR curriculum centers around courses in writing about science and technology; medical and biomedical writing; technical and professional communications; rhetoric and visual design; social media and gaming; and integrated skills in English for international students.
We are looking for outstanding scholars, but successful candidates must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. Experience working with international students and students whose language is not English is essential. A successful candidate should hold a PhD in Professional/Technical Communication, Writing and Rhetoric, or a related field.
