Actuarial Manager A leading financial services company is seeking an experienced Actuarial Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Actuarial Analysts within the Short-Term Insurance (STI) Actuarial team, driving business objectives through the development and monitoring of actuarial solutions that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities: Business Requirements: Analyzing business needs and identifying root causes, documenting clear business requirements, and developing solutions to meet organizational goals.
Team Leadership: Providing mentorship and coaching to team members, fostering skill development, promoting process automation, and enhancing team performance through collaboration.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, delivering clear and concise feedback, and ensuring effective communication on project progress.
Data Collection & Analysis: Collecting, verifying, and analyzing data from various sources to ensure completeness and accuracy for actuarial modeling.
Actuarial Modeling: Leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of actuarial models to ensure they align with business objectives and are fit for purpose.
Model Deployment and Testing: Managing the deployment and testing of actuarial models, conducting impact and sensitivity analysis to assess pricing strategies and profitability.
Insights & Reporting: Preparing and presenting data-driven reports, providing valuable insights, and offering actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Innovation & Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in business practices, staying up to date with actuarial techniques, and promoting continuous development within the team.
Performance Management: Setting and tracking team performance objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals, and managing performance to meet targets.
Compliance: Ensuring adherence to policies, regulatory standards, and maintaining integrity and professionalism within the team.
Qualifications & Experience: Education: A Bachelor's or Honours degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of actuarial experience in the Short-Term Insurance sector, with at least 1 year of managerial experience.
Skills: Advanced actuarial modeling, data analysis, and financial software skills.
Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
