Responsibilities Business Requirements Identification
Analyse business requirements and identify root causes rather than reacting to symptoms. Document business requirements within the scope of use, definitions, and assumptions made. Develop and refine solutions that address business requirements and objectives.Building Capability
Mentor and coach staff on a technical and professional front. Assist staff to increase their capacity to automate processes and encourage leveraging each other's strengths to improve overall team performance.Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Keep stakeholders informed about project/analysis delivery and provide clear feedback.Data Collection & Analysis
Use data from various sources to analyse key themes and identify possible impacts on the business. Verify data used for actuarial models against credible data sources to ensure completeness and accuracy.Actuarial Modeling
Translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases. Ensure that actuarial models and processes are developed, implemented, and monitored effectively.Model Deployment and Testing
Plan and deliver system changes and manage the team to meet project timelines. Engage with users to identify requirements and design solutions.Insights and Reporting
Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports. Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.Improvement / Innovation
Identify shortcomings in existing practices, suggest improvements, and implement solutions. Stay updated with business developments and proactively develop solutions.Leadership and Direction
Communicate actions needed to implement the function's strategy and motivate people to commit to these goals.Performance Management
Manage team performance, set objectives, and hold team members accountable. Oversee development pipelines and succession planning.Operational Compliance
Monitor performance and behaviours to resolve non-compliance with policies and maintain standards of integrity.Education Bachelor of Science: Actuarial Science (Required)
Experience 5 or more years of actuarial experience (Essential); 3 or more years' actuarial experience within a Short-Term insurance environment (Essential); 1 or more years' experience in planning and managing resources (Essential); 3 or more years' experience in reinsurance, capital management, and IFRS17 reporting (Essential); Experience in ReMetrica software or similar (Advantageous)
