The MiWay Pricing & Product Design team has expanded, creating an exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Assistant Manager in the personal lines Product Design and Pricing space. This position will enable you to lead a small team of new grads within the wider Pricing team. Come join the team and be part of the challenge!
Deliverables include, but will not be limited to:Grow and nurture junior members of the personal lines pricing teamAdvise on the technical aspects of model buildingGuide junior team members to implement and maintain pricing modelsAct as peer reviewer for work done in the pricing teamAssist with training and mentorship within the pricing teamFacilitate collaboration with other teams within the businessMinimum Requirements:An understanding of the core principles underlying scientific risk pricingHands-on experience building pricing modelsThe ability to motivate and empower individuals to grow the business and themselvesAn agile mindset; being willing to change priorities as business needs changeAble to identify and correct technical/knowledge gaps junior members may haveQualifications:Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematical Statistics or related field3 years in a short-term insurance pricing roleIn-depth knowledge of Generalised Linear ModelsProficient in SQLProficient in at least one of R or PythonPreferred Skills:Management or mentoring experienceFamiliarity with non-linear modellingTIAOracle PL/SQL ProgrammingKnowledge and Skills:Actuarial Problem SolvingIssues managementAttention to detail and accuracyPersonal Attributes:Self-development - Contributing independentlyInterpersonal savvy - Contributing independentlyNimble learning - Contributing independentlyTech savvy - Contributing independentlyCore Competencies:Cultivates innovation - Contributing independentlyCustomer focus - Contributing independentlyDrives results - Contributing independentlyCollaborates - Contributing independentlyBeing resilient - Contributing independentlyTurnaround time:The shortlisting process will only start once the application due date has been reached.
