Actuarial Analyst with Pricing ExperienceA leading short term insurer based in Cape Town is urgently searching for an Actuarial Analyst with Pricing experience. Under direct supervision of the Actuarial Manager, the suitable candidate will provide support on all the actuarial disciplines in the short term insurance space. Primarily the focus will be on underwriting risk management, pricing and segmentation; however, other ad-hoc work on reinsurance, capital modelling and reserving will be required. The role includes a strong data and analysis component, and applicants are expected to possess good computer skills.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Data collection, management and reportingPerforming experienced investigations and ad-hoc analysisSupport in reinsurance modelling, reserving, capital requirement assessmentUnderwriting risk management and risk pricingPredictive modelling and segmentation of client baseDevelop models to assist in business monitoring and developmentImprove automation and integration of risk systems and reportingManage underwriting risk, pricing and segmentationEstablish risk awareness throughout the businessReport building and provision of management informationDesired Experience & QualificationCompleted University Degree majoring in Actuarial SciencePasses in at least 3-4 CTs (or equivalent)Excellent computer skills (some programming skills will be advantageous e.g. R, SQL, SAS, VBA)Experience in detailed data manipulation is also required.
