It is important for our employees to provide a world class service to our internal and external clients, thereby ensuring long and sustainable relationships Key Purpose The purpose of this role is to assist the senior actuary with capital reporting responsibilities for Discovery Life and Invest. The key tasks include quarterly capital reporting to the Prudential Authority (PA), and contributing to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), focusing on Pillar 1, Embedded Value (EV) and IFRS 17 risk metrics, providing insights that support management's decision-making. Additionally, you will collaborate with teams across the business to enhance the capital management processes and strengthen the product offering. Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to Perform quarterly capital reporting and submissions to the PA. Engage with the PA on regulatory capital requirements and queries. Support the ORSA process, particularly on Pillar 1 capital adequacy, Embedded Value (EV) and IFRS 17 assessments. Participate in semi-annual valuation reporting as needed, with a focus on capital requirements. Develop and maintain existing reporting models Assist in improving the capital management framework and risk reporting processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various actuarial analytics and risk management projects. Education and Experience Essential: Matric with mathematics Bachelor's / Honours degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematical Statistics from an accredited institution Strong actuarial exam progress, must have completed at least 10 board exams. Advantageous: Honours in Actuarial Science SQL or other coding experience At least 1 years of working experience as an Actuarial Analyst within the Life Insurance industry. Technical Skills and Knowledge Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Effective communication skills Strong probem solving and analytical skills.
