This role sits as an extension to the UK Finance team and supports the wider function alongside many accounting colleagues.Here are just some of the things you'll be getting involved with:Raising and checking invoices for accuracy before distributionFacilitating enquiries in the relevant mailboxes and providing query resolutionAssisting operational TAG Agents and Independent Consultants with queries and invoicingPeriodic (daily, weekly, monthly) reporting for internal stakeholdersPosting and allocating daily cashAnalysing, monitoring and managing company aged-debtLiaising with clients to chase outstanding debtWorking closely with the Transactions Manager and assisting with additional tasks for aspects of credit control in their absenceAssisting with month-end routines and year-end accounts including related audit preparationAssisting with bank account reconciliations as and when requiredCollaborating with the Payables and BSP teams and liaising with overseas Finance colleagues as necessaryHelping test/prepare new system implementationsPerforming other duties as may be assigned from time to timeThe HowTo be successful at TAG is as much about mindset and attitude as it is about skill-set and qualifications. We revel in making the seemingly impossible possible, always rising to the challenge with ambition and a genuine, open attitude.We work flexibly to accommodate our TAG team colleagues, meaning on occasion there could be requirements 'outside of office hours' to manage time zones and other work commitments.As an Accounts Receivable Assistant, there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.Accounts Receivable and/or Collections experienceAccounts Payable experience is preferred but not essentialAccounting experience within the travel industry is preferredTravcom or other finance travel packages is advantageousWorking knowledge of Excel and full Microsoft Office SuiteProven record of working in a fast-paced environmentA service-oriented team player who can use own initiative, be proactive and interchange independent work with departmental teamworkAbility to collaborate with a variety of people and circumstances, work between different teams/individuals and build rapport with various stakeholdersAn enquiring and analytical mindset with the ability to spot and resolve errorsConsistent attention to detail with a calm and considered approach to work volumesOrganised with good time management and appreciation of changeable prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to carry out a wide range of tasks and the ability to learn and developFlexible to working hours, shift-patterns and TAG global office time zonesThe Where and WhenThis is a full-time office-based role (40 hours per week) based in our Stellenbosch office.You will report into the South Africa Operations Manager who is based in Stellenbosch.
