Key Purpose of the Role:Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounts payable department. This includes supervising staff, managing processes, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. Ensuring that the department meets all financial deadlines and provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders.Key Outputs and Accountability:Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including supervising staff, managing workflows, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.Monitor accounts and ensure that any discrepancies are identified and resolved.Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports for management.Ensure timely execution of all processes and communications to all stakeholders.Supervise the accurate preparation of bank reconciliation for PMB CTN and JHB bank accounts, ensuring that there are no variances on a weekly basis.Supervise all audit requirements to ensure that submissions are correct and are within specified timelines.Supervise payments of AP, Cashbook, and Prizes to ensure that they are done within the budgeted cash flow.Supervise to ensure that invoices are all signed by the relevant executive as per the level of authority chart and that only invoices that have POs and attached BBBEE level documents are paid.Participate in the performance of other duties and projects as assigned by FMs, Accountants, and/or the CFO.Ensure that BBBEE certificates are updated weekly on the shared drive and that monthly BBBEE reports are compiled to ensure compliance and timely decision-making on procurement.Educational Qualifications and Experience:Min National Diploma or higher.Advanced MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).3-4 years of experience working in an equivalent or similar role.Media industry experience advantageous.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Sage 300.Communication skills.Proven experience supervising staff and managing processes.Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.Excellent analytical and communication skills.Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.Culture:Live and exemplify Primedia values.
