We're proud to say we've achieved carbon-neutral status on all our transport moves.The Accounts Payable Assistant will report into the Finance Officer (in Cape Town), working closely with them and the rest of our small team. Our aim is to build and maintain a first-class finance function, with this role being part of the team responsible for the full day-to-day operations of the function. They will play a key role in delivering a robust, reconciled, and controlled environment from which we maximise our cashflow, appropriately and accurately recognise cost and liabilities, deal with issues promptly and ensure the ERP system contains high quality data in order for us to understand our financial position at all times.What you'll be doing:Day-to-day management of all Accounts Payable processes, reviewing and processing all supplier invoices and credit notes and ensuring these are accurately coded for entry to our accounting systemManaging payment runs for our suppliers (weekly) and our transport providers (daily)Resolving any payment-related issues with our suppliersMaintaining vendor information within the accounting systemReview the accounts payable ledger on a monthly basis, and be able to provide a full explanation regarding any aged or unusual balancesAssist in the annual audit, providing documentation and explanations where requiredIdentify any inefficiencies in the accounts payable process and suggest improvementsHelping to support the business where they have relevant queries or requests.Set for Success:Excellent attention to detail and organisation skillsAt least a basic understanding of accounting principles, with an understanding of accruals and prepaymentsGood self-discipline around deadlines and the ability to manage competing prioritiesFlexible and enthusiastic about new challenges; as a scale-up business we need to be adaptable and ready to switch focus at short noticeExcited to grow your career and expand your knowledge within the world of finance; keen to learn from your manager and other senior members of the team in order to build on your existing skillsPerks of the job:A salary that reflects your value: higher than market averageTake a Break: 20 days of holiday plus public holidays and Christmas Eve on usKeeping you healthy: ZAR1,000 per month towards medical aid with Momentum or DiscoveryPrepare for the future: Pension Fund with 5% employee and 5% employer contributionsTravel: We've got your evening commute covered, car park space if you drive and showers and towels if you cycleKeeping you refreshed: Enjoy an in-house barista and free fruit every daySocial Scene: Thursday and Friday drinks, and regular social activitiesCelebrating Success: 1/4 performance awards with prizes and an annual performance awards - last years winners enjoyed a 4 day all expenses paid trip to the French alps!Skills Booster: Opportunity to join a disruptive Technology Leader and be part of a fast-growing, innovative company reshaping the industryDE&IIn our pursuit of fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, we invite individuals from all backgrounds to join us in our mission.
