VACANCY: Accounts Officer (Part-Time)
REPORTING TO: Group Financial Controller
LOCATION: Durban North, KwaZulu Natal
Starlite Aviation Group has a requirement for a detail-oriented, problem-solving and analytical individual to fill a position as an Accounts Officer. The role will be stationed in Durban North, KZN.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing of supplier invoices in the accounting software using correct GL allocation, Project allocation and VAT guidelines.
Organise for payment of supplier invoices when due.
Requesting regular statement of account from Suppliers to ensure accounting records are updated and reconciled.
Load Allocate payments in the accounting system to the correct supplier accounts and to the correct Invoices.
Payment of supplier invoices onto Bank Platforms daily.
Save all supplier invoices on the Finance Folder or as indicated by Senior Accountants using correct file naming guidelines.
Update exchange rates regularly in the accounting system.
CASH BOOK DUTIES:
Downloading bank statements from Online Platform on a regular basis.
Saving bank statements on the Finance Folder monthly or as indicated by Senior Accountants using the correct naming guidelines.
Process bank transactions regularly as indicated by Senior Accountants into the Accounting System.
Assist Team Members on any queries in relation to cash book transactions.
Work closely with Accountants on Monthly Bank Reconciliation Exercise.
AD HOC DUTIES:
Renaming and filing of documents onto Shared Drives as per guidelines.
Assist Senior Accountants to keep Company Registry and KYC documents up to date.
Preparation of Audit Schedules during Audit.
Assist the Senior Accountant with budgets and forecasts.
Other Ad hoc duties as communicated by Senior Accountant and Group Financial Controller.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Comfortable with Microsoft Office Tools.
Numeracy and Data Entry skills.
Ability to work within a team.
Planning and Time Management skills.
Willingness to learn and go above and beyond.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following is essential for this position:
SAIPA or CIMA or Accounting Degree/Diploma.
Must be numerate and have an understanding of basic financial concepts.
No work experience required.
