Leading luxury African travel experts based in Cape Town seek to employ an Accounts Clerk in their Finance Division (hybrid working environment).You'll will support the Finance Department with various administrative and financial tasks.
Your role will involve managing basic financial records, assisting with reports, and ensuring the accuracy of data within the company's booking and accounting systems.The ideal candidate should have experience in a similar role, be highly organized, and capable of multitasking effectively.
This position offers opportunities for growth and development, with the expectation that the Accounts Clerk will assume new responsibilities as needed and report directly to the Financial Manager.
What You'll be Doing:Receive all invoices/credit notes from both trade and sundry creditors.Confirm the validity of the tax invoices/credit notes, ensure that they have been duly approved.Capturing of invoices/credit notes on Xero (accounting system).Prepare reconciliations of the trade and sundry creditors.Update outstanding creditors report on a weekly basis for cash flow purposes.Capture all creditor payments on Travelyst (booking system) and Xero (accounting system).Download and circulate proof of creditor payments from the bank.Capture all debtor receipts on Travelyst (booking system) and Xero (accounting system).Maintain the Finance Department mailbox and respond to relevant emails.Additional ad hoc responsibilities as required.
Desired Skills & Experience:National Senior CertificateDiploma or Degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience and familiarity with Xero highly preferred.Experience with Google's s office suite (Sheets, Docs etc)Ability to work under pressureAnalytical with strong attention to detailConfident and customer service oriented with a flexible and cooperative approach The closing date for this position: 24th September 2024.
