Job Description: As an Accounts Assistant and Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting and administrative functions. You will work closely with the finance team, project managers, and other departments to maintain accurate financial records and provide essential administrative support.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction-related financial practices and be capable of managing multiple accounts efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
Maintain and reconcile company accounts, including bank statements and ledgers.
Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with payroll processing.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Generate and process purchase orders.
Maintain supplier and customer databases.
Provide general administrative support.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to resolve any financial queries.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounts or administrative role, preferably within the construction industry.
Proficiency in the use of Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desirable:

Experience with construction accounting software.
Familiarity with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) regulations.
AAT qualification or working towards it.
