Join us and be a part of a company that values its people and empowers them to pursue their passions.Summary/Objective:The ideal candidate will be hands-on and report to the Senior Financial Controller. They will be responsible for providing expertise in financial and project accounting and other accounting-related services. Under the guidance of the Senior Financial Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining financial and business transactions. This entails applying accounting principles and involves analytical, evaluative, and advisory work that requires an understanding of accounting theory and practice.Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned): Performing, managing, training, and supervising team members in internal controls related to financial reporting, labor accounting, payroll, accounts payable, project accounting and invoice, fixed assets, inventory, and tax compliance.Perform and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.Manage All company bank accounts, including bank reconciliation, weekly cash flow, and payment (ACH and Checks)Initiate weekly AP check runs as directed by the CFO or Sr. Financial Controller.Perform, review, and oversee the preparation of Payroll Taxes, State Sales Taxes by State, and other state reporting as required.Verify the accuracy of all job costs as well as the reconciliation of all sub-ledgers to the general ledger (A/P, A/R, cash management, inventory, equipment, payroll, WIP)Execute and manage the internal financial reporting process to facilitate straightforward year-end preparation by an external CPA firm.Develop actionable insights from technical and financial data, working to minimize risk and identify growth. Cash flow management, including forecasting cash flow needs.Monitor and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk and identify areas of opportunity to safeguard assets better.Prepare and monitor appropriate debt schedules as required.Supervise and build a strong accounting and office team to fit the needs of our growing company.Develop accounting policies, guidelines, and procedures.Manage and perform other duties consistent with the role of an accounting professional.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Competencies:Technical and Analytical Capacity with a deep understanding of GAAP.Percentage of Completion Revenue Recognition.Ethical Conduct.Time Management and Organizational Skills.Attention to Detail.Leadership Skills.Communication Proficiency.Challenges the status quo.Drive change to its next level of maturation, creating a culture of fiscal accountability.Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with five or more years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller for a mid-sized company that provides services and manufactures products.Public accounting experience is preferred.Experience with ViewPoint and other ERP systems.High level of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.Understanding of business principles with strong organizational skills.Honesty, integrity, confidentiality.High level of professional written and oral communication skills.Strong managerial skills and team player.Professional presence and attitude.Texas Driver's License preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Self-starter.Enthusiastic and high energy.Eagerness to achieve company goals through the management of a team of employees.Continual improvement requires continually growing one's craft and learning new tools and techniques for managing oneself and a team.Knowledge of:Standard GAAP procedures.Percent of Completion Revenue RecognitionSkill in:Written, verbal, and graphical communications.Exhibit a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.Strong math skills.Use of Microsoft Office software package – i.e., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Ability to:Maintain multiple tasks and assignments.Relay company-related goals to the team and hold them accountable to stated goals.Identify opportunities for improvement and implement an environment and culture of continual improvement.Certificates and Licenses: CPA (Preferred)Supervisory Responsibilities:Responsible for direct oversight and management of the Financial Accounting team, including leading, mentoring, and directing team members and maintaining schedules.About the company:Patriot Erectors is a full-service, AISC Certified Steel Fabricator and AISC Advanced Steel Erector.
