The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Finance within the company to ensure that it is operating as efficiently as possible. This Accountant monitors, analyzes, and evaluates the financials of the company to make informed and calculated decisions.
Key Responsibilities:Account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, monthly reporting, tax reporting, and preparation of budgets.Prepare Monthly Accounts on Pastel for three companies.Prepare VAT for the three companies and submit to SARS.Analyse and upload all commission statements to Commspace system.Track all commission.Reconcile and load all ad hoc payments as well as monthly payments for authorisation.Manage Petty cash.Prepare Invoices.Calculate Referral commission.Auditing of New Business, Switches, Offshore Redemptions.Year End Audit management.Manage maintenance of the building.Key Performance Measures:Meet all deadlines timeously.All work is completed accurately with attention to detail.Be able to think strategically and analyze the business to identify opportunities for improvement.Finance Director is kept fully appraised and regularly updated.Communication and follow up.Timeously and professionally communicate (i.e. face to face, by email or telephonically) relating to all areas of responsibility pertaining to the role, including document sending and follow ups.Important Relationships:Directors.Financial Planners.Managers.Administrators.Other professional advisors e.g. Attorneys and Accountants.Clients.Paraplanner Team Members.Product providers.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field with experience.Experience:Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.Special Skills/Competencies:Attention to detail – Detailed and accurate.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational skills.Clear thinker.Ability to work well under pressure.Independent and creative problem solver.Initiative – Ability to achieve agreed outcomes without supervision.Excellent administrative, research, report writing, and communication skills.Excellent analytical skills with a preference for working in a structured, planned manner.Understanding of the Financial Planning process.Able to work within defined business processes.Prioritise and plan own workload.Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.Articulate.Excellent inter-personal skills, both written and verbal.IT skills.Team player.
