Accountant with MS Access Database ExperienceFantastic opportunity for an Accountant with MS Access Database experience to join a very successful JSE Listed Group.You will have completed a BCom in Accounting or Information Systems and will have strong MS Access Database and accounting experience to be able to perform reconciliations and understand financial statements as well as systems development and maintenance.Your KPI's will include system maintenance of the accounting package, including fixed assets and AP modules, creating and maintaining various MS Access Databases and performing monthly reconciliations (including analysis) between source system reports and the GL.Advanced Excel, Macros and Access is essential for this role.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe position reports to the Group Financial Accountant.Main responsibilities are:System maintenance of accounting package, including Fixed Assets and AP modules.Creating and maintaining various MS Access Databases.Perform monthly reconciliations (including analysis) between source system reports and General Ledger.Not a prerequisite but an advantage: Create, develop, and maintain models for accounting and tax purposes. These activities will include the collation of inputs and the testing of the outputs e.g. IFRS 9, IFRS 16 and IT14SD.Revising and checking of existing system-generated reports as required. Draft the specifications for any new reports.Extraction of system information to all departments within the group.General support to the Finance Department for ad hoc projects as agreed with Group Financial Accountant.Desired Experience & QualificationHold a suitable tertiary qualification e.g. B.Com Financial Accounting or Information Systems degree or an equivalent diploma in finance general, accounting and/or Information Systems.Sufficient accounting knowledge and experience to be able to perform reconciliations and to understand financial statements.Attention to detail and organized.Advanced Excel, Macros, and MS Access.
