IntroductionOur client is currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team. The ideal candidate must have strong financial accounting experience and be proficient in stock management. First prize is an experienced Accountant who comes from a manufacturing concern and who has been responsible for stock.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo reconcile and control the various types of stocks.Perform regular stock reviews and analysis to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting.Ensure that inventory valuation and product cost transactions impacting financial reports are monitored, controlled, and posted to the inventory ledger and general ledger.Review and finalise purchase orders to verify correct quantities, prices, and supplier information.Preparation of journals for manual Manufacturing stock accounting entries.Conduct reconciliations for Manufacturing stock accounts against sub-ledger data and identify variances for resolution.Determine the appropriate resolution for Manufacturing stock variances in collaboration with the manufacturing accounting team.Initiate variance resolution with the appropriate stakeholder groups and monitor resolution of variances.Escalate inconsistent, inaccurate, or incomplete transactions for resolution.Prepare adjusting journals for entries that require correction.Review account analysis on Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.Process and review journal entries during month-end closing.Approval of adjusting journals for entries that require correction.Cycle & Periodic Count sheets - create, print, enter and manage process.Coordinate recounts on variances.Complete Stock Count Investigative Analysis & get signoff.Post Cycle & Periodic Counts in BC.Assist with Finance Queries and investigations.Assist with Auditors queries.Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory.Monitoring inventory transactions.Maintain meticulous records of stock transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.Identify and propose process improvements to optimise stock management efficiency.Recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets.Tracking existing fixed assets.Recording depreciation and accounting for the fixed assets.Desired Experience & QualificationCompleted financial degree (non-negotiable).Minimum 5 years' experience as Financial accountant.Experience as accountant in manufacturing industry first prize.Proficient in stock management systems and software.Package & RemunerationR500 - R600K CTC + performance bonus.Interested?Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
