Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to oversee the full financial function for a luxury hospitality property in Franschhoek. This role will involve monthly financial reporting, managing cash flow, analysing variances, and supporting the overall financial operations of the business. The Accountant will work closely with the Head of Operational Finance and Head of Reporting Finance to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
Perform variance analysis between budgets, actuals, forecasts, and KPIs
Manage financial systems and intercompany transactions
Oversee cash flow, including receipts, payments, and forex management
Analyse stock reports, process related journals, and manage the Fixed Asset Register
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting standards
Provide ad hoc reports and support to management as required
Immerse in day-to-day operations and manage the accounts team effectively
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with at least some hospitality industry experience
Strong knowledge of accounting practices up to trial balance
Proficient in Sage X3/Enterprise Management
Experience with Property Management Systems (INFOR HMS) is advantageous
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
