Accountant

RPO Recruitment's client is currently seeking a skilled Accountant to join their team within Somerset West. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, doing monthly management accounts, processing invoices & payments, preparing VAT & SARS returns and upkeeping statutory records.Responsibilities:Manage the company's financial operations on a daily basis, encompassing bookkeeping, handling accounts payable, and managing accounts receivable.Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial data is accurate.Monitor financial transactions, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or irregularities.Prepare and submit VAT and tax returns.Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.Process payments on a daily basis.Support the preparation for annual audits and tax filings.Keep precise and current records of all financial transactions. Provide management with financial analysis and strategic recommendations.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.Proficiency in Sage Online is required.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.Knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations.Experience in the financial services industry.Benefits:Market related salary.RPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
