A luxury wine and hospitality estate is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team. The Accountant will oversee the full financial function, ensure the Trial Balance is ready and reconciled for monthly financial reporting, and provide guidance and assistance to improve financial and operating systems across all the business units. The Accountant will support the Head of Operational Finance and the Head of Reporting Finance in all accounting and business practices for the estate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive accurate and timeous monthly reporting including P&L reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
Perform preliminary analysis of variances between budgets, actuals, forecasts, statistics, and KPIs.
Financial system management and development according to business and reporting needs.
Intercompany transaction management.
Manage cash flow ensuring timely receipts and payments are maintained, including forex.
Analyzing stock reports, movements and processing stock-related journals.
Maintain Fixed Asset Register and Capex control schedule, ensuring accuracy and completion.
Assistance in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensure appropriate application of accounting policies and company standard processes.
Support statutory and financial reporting compliance activities as required.
Adhoc reports and tasks as required from management and business operations.
To immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of the property (being based at the accounts office on the premises).
To manage workload effectively within the team and address any concerns raised by management.
Attend meetings as required.
To have a clear working knowledge of all company policies and to operate within their scope.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
SA Citizen
Matric
Financial Diploma / Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience in overall accounting.
Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is an advantage.
Sound experience in all aspects of accounting up to trial balance.
Sound understanding of reconciling and analyzing general and subsidiary ledgers.
Proficient knowledge of Sage X3/Enterprise Management.
Experience in Property Management Systems (INFOR HMS) would be an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Good command of the English language, verbal and written.
Must have own, reliable transport
