Duties and Responsibilities: Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.Develop trends and projections.Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.Generate and manage invoices accurately and in a timely manner.Ensure compliance with relevant billing procedures and resolve discrepancies.Establish and maintain effective communication with customers regarding billing inquiries and payment processing.Address customer queries and provide necessary information.Undertake general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department.Maintain organised and systematic filing systems for financial records.Collaborate with the accounting team to facilitate month-end and year-end closing procedures.Assist in preparing financial reports and statements.Participate in regular stock take activities to maintain accurate inventory records.Contribute to project management by tracking financial aspects and ensuring adherence to budgets.Assist in preparing financial reports for project evaluation.Engage in cost accounting processes to analyse, track, and report on costs associated with business operations.Requirements: Preference will be given to an individual who has worked within the Transport Industry.Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of practical experience.Matric / Grade 12.Valid driver's license.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of fundamental accounting principles and procedures.Ability to navigate Sage online efficiently for tasks such as ledger management and financial reporting.Desirable software: experience on DataTim.Showcase familiarity with day-to-day accounting responsibilities.Exhibit strong communication skills in conveying financial information and interacting with colleagues and clients.Showcase exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in handling administrative tasks.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.Understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.Sound knowledge of accounting software, preferably Pastel & Sage online.People and general management experience will be given preference.Job Type: Full-time
Ability to commute/relocate: George, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
