We are looking for an Accountant to join our Insurance Division.
As a successful Accountant, you will be responsible for the full accounting function of various insurance-related entities within the group.
You will play a key role in the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.Duties and Responsibilities:Preparation of annual financial statements for insurance entities.Preparation and analysis of monthly Management Accounts for the insurance division.Reporting on variances and implementing cost-saving initiatives within the division.Submission of provisional tax, income tax, and handling of disputes specific to the insurance sector.Calculation of provisional taxes, ensuring accuracy in insurance-related financial matters.Review of monthly processing, reconciliations, and VAT submissions.Ensuring compliance with tax laws, insurance regulations, and industry standards.Preparation of annual budgets for the insurance division.Cashflow management and reviewing daily payments specific to insurance operations.Provide assistance and training to team members within the division.Perform any ad hoc tasks as assigned by upper management from time to time.Position Requirements:B. Com Accounting degree or similar.Qualified accountant (SAIPA/SAICA articles beneficial).2 years'+ post article experience, ideally within the insurance sector.Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in financial reporting, particularly in insurance.Sound understanding of tax, management accounts, and insurance-specific regulations.Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams.Strong analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to deliver quality outputs under high pressure and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Pastel, Draftworx, Microsoft Office, and SARS e-filing.Please note: If you do not receive feedback within the next two weeks, we regret to inform you that your application has not been successful.
