This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success and growth of our organisation.Key Responsibilities: Financial Recordkeeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for lending operations.Financial Reporting:Prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Generate regular financial reports for management to support decision-making.Assist with month end closure.Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and lending industry standards.Assist in preparing documentation for external audits.Loan Portfolio Management:Monitor and track loans and their associated interest income, ensuring accuracy in loan accounting.Calculate and record provisions for loan losses and assess the adequacy of loan reserves.Budgeting and Forecasting:Participate in the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts.Analyse budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control.Taxation:Prepare tax returns (VAT & PAYE).Stay informed about changes in tax laws and ensure compliance with tax regulations.Financial Analysis:Conduct financial analysis to assess the company's financial performance and identify areas for improvement.Assist in financial modelling for new lending products and business initiatives. Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements.
