Title: AccountantPlace of work: PretoriaReporting to: CFOThe accountant's responsibilities include various corporate accounting functions mainly focusing on debtor management, cashbook processing and assisting with general accounting functions, reconciliations and statutory returns for the group of companies. The accountant will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.Main Corporate account functions:Debtor management.Cash book management.Prepare accounting records up to trial balance.Other accounting and statutory functions as and when required.Invoicing and customer account maintenance:Debtor Management: Invoicing, Customer Statements, customer queries and maintaining customer accounts.Client invoices raised as and when required against the correct revenue account and in the correct entity.Client statements distributed on time and to correct recipients.Follow up on client queries.Process approved credit notes as and when required.Complete questionnaires and application forms for new clients.Authenticate the data received for customer billing and ensure all information is accurate.Account for VAT accurately.Invoice summary to Business UnitPerform accurate reconciliations within timelines.Perform Month-end procedures and ensure invoicing reports are balancing before closing offperiod.Assist in process of automating the revenue / customer cycle.Annual escalation lettersBalance invoice control to XeroCashbook:Ensure accurate and complete processing of cashbook data.Perform accurate reconciliation within timelines.Account accurately for VAT when cashbooks are recordedUpdate cashbooks and cashflow on a daily basisMonthly accountingFixed Asset registerProvision for Bad debt journalsIntercompany Loan account reconCommissions and provisionsCIPC ReconPrepayments & Prepaid incomeGeneral accounting:Balance sheet level.Assist with various reconciliations and statutory returns (e.g. CIPC) as and when required.Any other reasonable tasks as requested by the employer, within the scope of the role and theemployee's capabilities.Requirements:BCom Accounting degree / similar qualificationSAIPA articlesXero (accounting software)
