Accountant

Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing analysis to support decision-making.Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including the timely submission of tax returns and payments.Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and investigate discrepancies.Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, liaising with auditors as required.Payroll Processing: Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.SAGE Accounting: Utilize SAGE Accounting software to manage financial transactions, generate reports, and streamline processes.Requirements:Bachelors degree in Accounting or FinanceCompleted articles with a recognized accounting firm (SAICA/SAIPA).5 years of experience in the logistics industryProficiency in SAGE Accounting software.Advanced Excel skills, i.e. V LOOK UP and Pivot tablesStrong understanding of South African tax regulations and accounting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
