ACCOUNTANTMinimum RequirementsMatric (Grade 12)Suitable applicants to have completed B Comm (Accounting) Honours plus Articles as a minimum.Taxation Diploma/qualification will be an added advantage.Solid experience (4-5 years minimum) on the preparation of Financial statements, Audit packs, and financial analysis.Minimum 3-4 years experience in taxation calculations. Solid knowledge of prescribed rates, laws, and taxation regulations.Advanced knowledge of VAT and PAYE, Preparation and submission of company tax and VAT returns.Handle periodic tax computations and payments, conduct tax research.Management of full taxation function for the company, attending to queries and audits.Deep knowledge of finance, accounting, and tax regulations.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Having worked as a team leader would be an advantage.ResponsibilitiesAchieve the Goals and Objectives set and agreed with B. Unit Management.Preparation of monthly, interim, and year-end reporting packs Balance Sheet, income statement, and accounting annexes.Preparation of Annual Financial statements.Maintenance of financial controls over the completeness & accuracy of transactions, review of the trial balance.Balance Sheet reconciliations preparation.Maintain an accurate Trial Balance at all times and prepare and/or review General Ledger reconciliations.Maintain accurate fixed asset registers, calculate depreciation, Reporting on CAPEX.Complete and file Statics SA or other government institutions' survey requests.Calculate and process monthly journals e.g., IFRS16, VAT journals, Payroll journals, Tax journals.Preparation of VAT reconciliations, returns, and submission and follow-ups with SARS thereof.Calculate Income tax / Deferred tax monthly, yearly (IRP6/IT14s), Dividends tax, and related files for audits, review, and submissions.Keep track of the Companies Tax compliance for all Tax and SARS-related matters and rectify where necessary.Ensure the VAT and Income and Dividends Tax payments are paid on time.Compilation and review of financial policies, experience with Transfer Pricing, IFRS16.Ensure the company is up-to-date with any changes in Accounting and Auditing Standards.Responsible for management of the SARS E-filing profile regarding audit requests, VAT, Income Tax, and Withholding taxes.Submits CIPC and SARS returns, liaises with SARS officials, and maintains a good working relationship.Responsible for ensuring that the archive of accounting and tax documents comply with all legal requirements.Prepare documents required to be presented in audits; audit packs and liaise with internal and external auditors.Ensure accurate results and compliance with the IFRS Standards, laws, and internal procedures.Ensure the accuracy of intercompany balance and transactions between the B.U and related entities.Initiate corrective action and enhance systems and procedures.Be a mentor/coach for the other team members.Provide assistance in preparing weekly and monthly reports.Ensure that all reports are submitted by the respective deadlines.Undertake any other ad-hoc task or report required.Manage internal and external audits.Desired SkillsFinancialAccountancyArticlesTaxation
