Job purposeThe purpose of an Accountant is to be responsible for recording, reviewing and reconciling financial transactions of the organisation through performing a wide range of duties including bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and financial reportingJob ObjectivesBad debtsResponsible for writing off bad debts and posting the write-off to the relevant journalAccounts payable review and releaseResponsible for reviewing credit reconciliations, assisting in resolving reconciling itemResponsible to do the first release and post payment to relevant journalCash ManagementReview bank reconciliation, and complete bank balance for cashflow purposesPayroll ReconciliationsResponsible for reconciling and reviewing payroll reports and posting it to the relevant journalResponsible for recalculating leave provisions and capturing the leave journalResponsible for first release in the payment of employee tax and employee benefitsProvision and AccrualResponsible for raising accruals and calculate provision based on analysis done on expected expenseTaxResponsible for being compliant with SARS (Income Tax, VAT and Employee tax), ensure that reconciliation , submission and payment is done as required by SARSFixed AssetResponsible for maintaining the Fixed asset Register, Calculate the depreciationGeneral LedgerPerform month end balance sheet reconciliationAd HocResponsible to testing system upgradesJob requirementsQualifications and experienceNQF 7 Degree or advanced diploma in Accounting2-3 Years' Accountant Skills, Abilities and Job-Related KnowledgeFinancial KnowledgeAccounting PrinciplesCosting of stockPayroll reconciliationsWriting off bad debtsMicrosoft D365 (finance module)ExcelTime managementAttention to detailE-mail & Telephone EtiquetteNumeracyProblem solvingVerbal ComprehensionCompetenciesAnalysis and judgementSystematic approachReliabilityResults and goal orientationProfessional expertiseReports to
