National Manufacturing company in New Germany invites applications from qualified Accountants for a 6 months maternity cover, starting Oct.2024 to March 2025. Responsibilities Process month end journals and prepare financial reports (income statements, balance sheet etc.), within 5 days after month end. Update cashflow forecast daily and monthly. Load creditors payments at month end (or as required) using creditors reconciliations received from Creditors Department after review. Liaise with Creditors Clerks on queries. Liaise with Debtors Department on receipt of incoming monies. Perform sundry invoicing from Excel as and when required. Reconcile inter-company loan accounts, debtors and creditor balances and ensure settlement thereof. Submit PAYE returns via e-filing on receipt of relevant reports from Payroll. Liaise with Payroll on Medical Aid/Provident/UIF and other relevant payments. Deal with all queries from management and staff, follow up on payments, handle requests for documentation etc. Keep filing up to date. Act as back up to other Accountant/s in their absence. VAT: Prepare workings for VAT return and submit to financial manager for approval Submit VAT return via efiling and load payment PAYE: Review PAYE return before submission Cashbooks/: Load EFTs and update relevant Accountant Capturing of cashbooks Monthly bank reconciliation Credit/fleet cards Reconcile credit card ensure correct allocation i.e. expense Post entries for credit and fleet cards Complete audit file per company/per month including all supporting documentation for use by external auditors to complete year end audit and financial statements. Assistance with monthly and yearly stock takes. Any other adhoc tasks as required to achieve the objectives and deadlines of the finance department. B.Com (3 years completed) - or equivalent 5 years Accounting experience in a similar role Exposure to a manufacturing environment an advantage Computer literate Excel essential proven working experience on accounting programme/s Syspro an advantage
