Job & Company DescriptionsA Financial Services company is looking for a Senior Accountant on a 4-month contract. The purpose of a Senior Accountant is to oversee and manage an organizations accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role involves preparing financial statements, conducting audits, overseeing the general ledger, managing budgets, handling tax compliance, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:Review and release payments, as well as add new beneficiaries.Prepare balance sheet and revenue reconciliations.Prepare cash forecasts and loan account reconciliations.Compile finance reconciliations for BEE reporting.Review bookkeepers procurement spend reconciliation for BEE reporting.Maintain and update the fixed asset register.Load fixed assets and process depreciation.Oversee month-end close of debtors and creditors.Raise invoices/credit notes and review bookkeepers invoices.Process month-end journals, including salaries, standard journals, and fund journals.Ensure completion of operating expense accruals.Review creditors' invoices for accurate processing.Review the tax add-info report.Review forex payments as required.Review intercompany sundry recoveries.Maintain accurate electronic filing of accounting records.Prepare VAT 201 returns and conduct reasonability checks.Update monthly management accounts and investigate significant variances.Present management accounts during flash meetings.Prepare HFM packs.Prepare tax calculations and journals.Assist in budget and forecast preparation.Prepare financial statements.Oversee bookkeepers and junior accountants when needed.Perform ad-hoc finance duties as required.Assist with audit requests and queries. Job Experience and Skills Required:Completed Bcom or Bcom Hons in Finance4 5 years experience in a similar position
