A renowned South African non-profit organization is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis and contribute to their mission of driving positive social change. The main focus of this position is to manage financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and compliance, while supporting the organization's mission of social impact and community development . Duties: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accurate reporting. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger, and other financial accounts. Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights for cost control and financial planning. Support the preparation of audit schedules and assist auditors during year-end audits. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory filings. Monitor and maintain financial records in line with accounting standards, preparing regular financial reports for management. Assist in the management of the financial software system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency. Ensure adherence to internal controls and best financial practices across all departments. Qualifications & Skills: A BCom in Accounting is essential. Completion of articles. At least 3 years of post-articles experience in an accounting role, with a solid understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
