OverviewReferenceAccountantSalaryZAR/monthJob Location- South Africa -- Johannesburg Metro -- JohannesburgJob TypePermanentPosted14 August 2024Closing date14 Nov 2024 21:59Our client is seeking an Accountant in the manufacturing industry plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and supporting financial analysis and reporting. This role involves working closely with other finance team members and departments to ensure that financial transactions are recorded correctly and that financial reports are accurate and timely.Responsibilities:Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Assist in tracking and analyzing manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.Support the preparation of cost reports and cost analysis to monitor and control expenses.Help with inventory management, including stock valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries of financial performance.Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.Provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes, including data entry and analysis.Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure accurate financial reporting.Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments.Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve accounting-related issues.Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.Assist in the integration of new financial systems or software tools.Skills:Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
