We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing budgets, performing audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.What you'll do:Assist the Lodge Bookkeepers and lodge administratorsAssist lodge managers/ Director with queriesPrepare and review South African lodge balance sheet reconciliations process monthly journalsPrepare monthly management accounts for regional business unitsPrepare assist with quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and high level forecastsAssist with year-end audit queriesAssist in training of staff from various backgrounds and skill levelsCapex tracking and related functions.Liaison with professional legal advisors, tax authorities etc.Able to travel if necessary.Ad hoc tasks as required.Ensuring month end processes for a number of lodges are completed within the required timelinesProcess monthly journals related to South African lodgesEnsuring the accuracy of data extracted from multiple platformsProvide variance analysis and other accounting support to central teamsPreparing monthly Balance sheet reconciliationsAssist with planning and co-ordination of the audit and address audit queriesMaintain Fixed asset register and capital expenditure trackingAssist the Lodge Bookkeepers and lodge administratorsAssist lodge managers/ Director with queriesBank reconciliations checksCirculating and reviewing monthly management accounts to lodgesReviewing the accounts to maintain financial integrity and standardisation across the regionAd hoc tasks as requiredYour expertise:2 years' experienceProficient with MS Office Packages (Excel)Advanced excel experience required (etc. pivot table, vlookups)Experience with Panstrat and / or Microsoft Access beneficialKnowledge of Pastel advantagesAnalysis Problem SolvingPlanning and OrganisationHaving and using knowledge of systems, situations, procedures and cultures inside the organization to identify potential organizational problems and opportunities; perceiving the impact and the implications of decisions on other components of the organization.
