My client in the FMCG industry is looking for a versatile, process driven and hands-on operational Accountant.
The Accountant shall be responsible for the full financial function of the organisation from the origination of the financial transactions to the finalisation of the annual financial statements.
This position requires attention to detail, organisational skills, problem-solving skills as well as the ability to operate independently.
The responsibilities shall include, but not to be treated as an exhaustive list, namely:
Recording of financial transactions.
Monthly reconciliation of debtors and creditors.
Reconciliation of bank accounts.
Submission and payment of SARS PAYE, UIF, SDL and VAT.
Calculating income tax, submission to auditors and payment to SARS.
Submission and payment of Compensation Commission (COIDA).
Compilation of the annual budget.
Reporting via bi-monthly management packs to Directors.
Maintaining and implementing a system of internal control.
Compliance with all policies, practices, and procedures according to prescribed accounting principles and legislation.
Providing the finance lead with regard to stock takes.
Assistance with compilation of Annual Financial Statements.
Being the key point of contact and information during annual audit.
Ad hoc liaising with auditors.
Management of staff, where applicable.
Other duties as assigned by management.
