Accountant

Accountant required for a renowned accounting firm based in East London Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with a strong background in accounting and management. The successful candidate will have completed their articles and possess hands-on experience with Pastel and Caseware. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage accounting operations, mentor junior staff, and contribute to our firm's growth and success.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:   Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation.Manage and mentor a team of junior accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts using Pastel and Caseware.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.Liaise with clients to address their accounting needs and provide expert advice on financial matters.Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date.Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.Qualifications:Completion of articles with a recognized accounting body ESSENTIAL Proven experience in accounting and middle management roles within a small to medium-sized firm.Proficiency in Pastel and Caseware ESSENTIAL   Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Should you wish to apply please email your CV through to Emily Lessing at
